Investing In Volunteers
Donated Goods
The VCC receives donated goods from members of the public and redistributes these to families in need in the local area. We are always looking for volunteer’s to help us keep stock levels monitored and keep storage areas organised.

If you would like to find out more then you can view our task description below or email sarah@voluntarycarecentre.co.uk.

Task Description

What does this role involve?
You will be required to sort through donated goods and store them accordingly. You will need to keep up-to-date stock records (on excel) of goods and arrange for the re-distribution of unwanted goods (usually where these exceed our store capacity).

What else might be involved?
At certain times of year we receive a greater level of donations; extra support at these times is always needed.

You may also be asked to help with basic administrative tasks, related to donated items, from time to time.

You will also be expected to attend VCC support sessions for all volunteers (held 3-4 times each year).

How long will I have to commit to?
A minimum of three months is required. There is no maximum length of commitment.

How frequently will I be needed?
You will be needed for at least a morning or afternoon each week.

Do I need any experience?
You will have the ability to sort children’s toys and clothes into appropriate age and gender categories. No experience is needed. Training and support will be provided.

The Organiser is here to support you in your voluntary work and therefore welcomes feedback whether it is about any concerns you may have or just keeping up to date on your progress.
