Investing In Volunteers Award
The Voluntary Care Centre has been assessed and awarded the Investing in Volunteers Award

By the United Kingdom Volunteering Forum (UKVF)

This award is valid from October 2008-2011

The UKVF Quality Assurance Panel approved our award on October 7th 2008 and the great news that we had been successful in achieving this standard came the following day.

40th Anniversary and IIV Award VIP Celebration

The Voluntary Care Centre's 40th Anniversary and IIV Award Event took place at the Civic Suite at Lewisham Town Hall on the evening of March 27th 2009 there were over 80 guests who included both the Mayor and the young Mayor of Lewisham, a number of Lewisham Councilors, VCC volunteers and supports.

The Chairman (Garth Davidson) opened the event with a brief history of the centre, highlighting some of the organisations milestones and telling some of the interesting and more unusual stories and events that had occurred along the way. This was followed by the Mayor of Lewisham presenting the prestigious IIV award to the Voluntary Care Centre, which was accepted by Evelyn Brady (Centre Manager) on behalf of all those who's hard work and dedication enabled this great achievement for the organisation.

Finally there was the opportunity for everyone to socialize, listen to some live entertainment and enjoy some very delicious refreshments.

A huge thank you goes out to all who have played a part in the VCC achievements and successes over the past 40 years - long may it continue.
